WELCOME TO FIRENZE NEWFOUNDLANDS      

We have been dog lovers all our lives and have shared 45 years with a variety of breeds including Spaniels, Old English Sheep dogs, Golden Retrievers, Dachshunds, Collies and Shelties. It was always a dream to have a Newfoundland and we finally took the step nearly 3 years ago when we bought Poppy. We are lucky to have been introduced to Poppy (Barachois Cracklin' Rose) by Debra Greenwood, the owner of Barachois, a kennel in Yorkshire.  Since we purchased her we have had some wonderful times and have grown to love this magnificent breed.

The important thing to realize with a Newfoundland is that you are taking on a very large, hairy, slobbery, puddle loving, messy but adorable, cuddly and loving friend. They love to be fussed and will return all the love and kindness you give them tenfold. Although Newfoundlands are best known for their love of water, we are actually the owners of a Newfie who does not like the sea, but she adores sloshing in puddles and swimming in lakes where there are no waves! We have now decided that our passion in life is Newfies and our future lies in breeding this magnificent gentle giant. We have revisited Barachois on a number of occasions as it is always lovely for her to visit her mum and sister and we are now receiving invaluable assistance in this new venture.
